KLM Blue Houses | Red light district

Since 1952, KLM presents its long-haul first class, later business class passengers with small Delftware, blue-and-white porcelain reproductions of old Dutch canal houses, filled with jenever.

Architect Kees Doornenbal designed some real life houses ”Out of the Blue” inspired by the iconic KLM houses. The shining paint and the hard color contrasts make them look like they are porcelain. The window frames are painted in royal blue to mimic the blue used in Delftware.
